The method



French in ParisThe method of teaching put an emphasis on speaking and listening skills while the writing skills are improved. The students will be free to actively participate, express their views, in role play and simulations. Daily the grammar is focused through oral and written exercises. In addition pronunciation is corrected according to each ones requirement.

Teachers



French in ParisOur teaching team is university graduates specialized in teaching French as a foreign language. All of them agreed that the best way to learn French is by making learning a pleasure and taking advantage of every opportunity that comes up to improve your French.



Some tips to improve your reading skills are:
  • Read first time the book of the detective series “Maigret” without using a dictionary and without trying to understand each word, because it use everyday vocabulary and expressions of Paris. The second time you’ll be able to understand the general meaning of the story.
  • Read newspapers and magazines that interest you.
Some tips to improve your listening skills are:
  • Listen to the radio.
  • Sing-up for a dance class.
  • Go to a café.
Some tips to improve your speaking skills are:
  • Don’t spend all time speaking your native language with other foreigners.
  • Keep in mind that you need to put an accent on the differences between your native language and the French language.
Students work in pairs and small groups, give presentations, work on fill in the blank exercises, watch and comment on film excerpts and learn songs all while learning how to speak, listen, read and write in French.

Levels



French in Paris After a level test, our school assesses what level you are currently at and will be places at the appropriate level, in a high quality learning environment where students progress according to their individual goals and aptitudes.

We offer basic levels in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages with an exception for Beginner.

Beginner:
It corresponds to a maximum of 50 hours of course study.
You will be able to use the language to basic structures to talk about oneself, to make contact with others, to obtain information, to fill in a form, to make purchase, and to order in a restaurant.

Elementary A1:
It corresponds to around 150 hours of course study.
You will have a general basic ability to communicate in everyday situations. You will be able to convey simple messages in social and travel contexts. You will be able to start a conversation and participated in it.

Intermediate 1 A2:
It corresponds to around 200 hours of course study.
You will be able to communicate in short conversations on familiar topics and understand short simple text. You will have the possibility to talk about a project, an idea, jobs, hobbies, studies among others topics.

Intermediate 2 B1:
It corresponds to around 400 hours of course study.
You will be able to sustain a conversation on familiar topics and will be able to produce and understand complex text with ease, talk about a variety of subjects and express oneself in a spontaneous way. You will have the opportunity to give opinions and debate with other people.

Advanced B2:
It corresponds to around 600 hours of course study.
You will be able to communicate effectively in spontaneous way in social and professional contexts. You will feel comfortable using all tenses.

Proficiency C1:
It corresponds to 700 to 1000 hours of course study.
You will be able to speak fluently to near native speaker standard. You will have the experience comprehend any type of document easily.

Intensive French - 20

Students will be able to choose how many weeks and at what rhythm they would like to study. The French lessons builds your confidence and improve your fluency, throughout reviewing and extending grammar, vocabulary, listening, reading, writing, speaking and pronunciation skills.

The course starts on any Monday, and the school will find a French class adapted to your level. The mini-group starts with 4 students and it extends to 12 students, depending of number lessons per week.

Groups: Depending on course.
Classes: 20 lessons per week. Lessons of 45 minutes.


Intensive French - 30

Students will be able to choose how many weeks and at what rhythm they would like to study. The French lessons builds your confidence and improve your fluency, throughout reviewing and extending grammar, vocabulary, listening, reading, writing, speaking and pronunciation skills.

The course starts on any Monday, and the school will find a French class adapted to your level. The mini-group starts with 4 students and it extends to 12 students, depending of number lessons per week.


Groups: Depending on course.
Classes: 30 lessons per week. Lessons of 45 minutes.


One to one French lessons

This course offers the chance to develop specific speaking and writing skills, such as progress quicker and prepare for an exam. Students will be able to choose how many weeks and at what rhythm they would like to study, however you should take at least 2 lessons.
The course starts on any Monday, and the school will find a French class adapted to your level.


Groups: Depending on course.
Classes: minimum 2 lessons. Lessons of 45 minutes.
